What is the role?

Property Operations maintain buildings, infrastructure and assets (Properties) to accommodate the AFP’s workforce and law enforcement partners, providing national and international policing capabilities. Properties are administrated within a broad Property Portfolio which consists of domestic and international properties (leased/owned).

Property Operations provide a wide range of facilities management services through the AFP’s WoAG Service Provider for Property Services (PSP). Management of the PSP is second to ensuring properties are safe for AFP members, law enforcement partners and visitors. The PSP provides the following core services; facilities management, leasing administration for international and domestic leasing, financial administration and reporting, building inspection/condition assessments and coordination/resolution of out of hours property related issues.

The role of Facilities Manager - Property Operations (FM) working to Senior Team Leader National Facilities Team is to initiate, oversee, monitor and report on the operation of the AFP’s Property Portfolio within resourcing constraints, funding and performance expectations. The FM must perform their duties within the AFP’s governance, reporting and performance frameworks.

Through the application of their industry expertise, a key performance indicator for the role is delivering the best outcome for the AFP through direct management of external service providers, including WoAG PSP, Utilities Providers and Commonwealth and State/Territory Government Departments.

The FM must develop and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders at a range of levels by drawing upon their professional disciplines, excelling under pressure, demonstrating their excellent ability to make sound decisions and use judgement across a range of issues.

The FM must also have contemporary industry-based facilities management experience and expertise in contract management, procurement and negotiation. The FM works in a fast-paced environment and requires the capacity to think strategically, identify opportunities and prioritise effort. • Government Engagement:
• Develop and drive structured engagement plans with key government officials in ministries & central PSUs, Regulators & Consultants.
• Analyze evolving political and policy developments, assess business implications, and provide strategic recommendations to team
• Support policy advocacy aligned with SEIL’s priorities in energy transition, grid modernization, and sustainability.
• Monitoring Govt plans captured in like Union Budget, FTAs & other trade policies.
• Stakeholder Management:
• Build and sustain strong, trust-based relationships with senior government representatives, industry associations, think tanks, and ecosystem partners.
• Position SEIL as a constructive industry partner through proactive engagement and solution-oriented dialogue.
• Prepare high-quality briefing materials, policy notes, and engagement strategies for senior leadership interactions.
  
  

• Strengthen SEIL’s positioning as a thought leader in decarbonization, innovation, clean technologies, and digital grid solutions.
• Translate global advocacy priorities into actionable country-level government affairs strategies.
• Lead SEIL’s engagement with key industry platforms such as CII, IEEMA, and other relevant associations.
• Represent SEIL in panels, working groups, task forces, and strategic industry forums to advance business and policy objectives.
• Closely work with German Embassy & other agencies like IGCC & IGEF..etc
• Risk & Issue Management:
• Proactively identify geo-political risks that could impact operations or growth plans.
• Develop mitigation strategies and coordinate cross-functional responses during government-related issues or crises.
• Ensure preparedness through structured monitoring and scenario planning.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Business Alignment
• Partner with Business/Execution Units to align government engagement with strategic priorities and market expansion plans.
• Identify and advocate for policy enablers, funding mechanisms, and incentive schemes relevant to SEIL’s portfolio.

• Analyze existing on-premises applications to understand their architecture, dependencies, and migration requirements.
• Develop and implement migration strategies and plans for various applications.
• Collaborate closely with infrastructure, database, and security teams to ensure a smooth and secure migration process.
• Conduct thorough testing of migrated applications in the cloud environment to ensure functionality, performance, and data integrity.
