Job Responsibilities

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Interior Design, Architecture or related majors; with more than 5 years of professional experience in interior design
2. experience in designing large-scale, luxury interior projects, including but not limited to five-star hotels, residential buildings, villas, sales centers, shopping malls and office buildings.
3. Strong concept design capability, excellent creativity and spatial thinking skills, as well as proficient hand-drawing ability.
4. Able to independently complete overall project planning and independent design of project areas; with a bold and innovative design style.
5. High level of competency in Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD and SketchUp. Proficient in Specsource or dotstudio or other related software is a plus.

Your new role
In this role, you will play a key part in the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of plastering and dry lining projects. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and site teams, you will assist with cost planning, tendering, procurement, and the overall financial oversight of live projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing interim valuations, tracking project progress against budgets, measuring works, managing variations, and supporting the production of final accounts. You'll also contribute to improving internal commercial processes and ensuring accurate cost reporting. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to build hands-on experience in a specialist subcontractor environment. You will gain exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle from pre‑construction through to handover while developing a strong understanding of interior fit‑out trades and the commercial intricacies that come with them. What you'll need to succeed

• Up to 4 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within a construction subcontracting environment. Experience in plastering, dry lining, interiors, facades, or similar packages is highly advantageous.
• A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline, with strong foundational knowledge of construction contracts and measurement.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret drawings, track costs accurately, and manage financial documentation with precision.

The HSEQ Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of health, safety, environment, and quality across the Organisation. The HSEQ Manager role will also include Data Protection Officer (DPO) responsibilities.

As a design led practice, this firm of Structural Engineers works to improve the 'built' environment. Their vast experience and passion for combining quality of structure with visual perfection, enables them to deliver sensitive conversions of period buildings, as well as modern designs to new buildings. They are an enthusiastic and growing company looking for bright talent. You would need a minimum of 2 years of structral design experience to be considered. They currently have around 10 staff.

They specialise in the construction of small to medium size buildings projects, ranging from £10,000 and £8m.

They pride themselves on their exceptional staff loyalty and retention and enjoy providing a quality engineering service to their clients.


They also have extensive basement knowledge. In the last five years they have completed 105 basement projects. They are considered experts in this field. They provide design advice to several of the large basement companies and also help neighbours with secondary advice when works are happening next door. They also offer temporary works design services. Ideally you will be able to run projects or parts of projects, ideally without supervision. You must be AutoCAD literate as you will be expected to do your own drawing work. You must be interested in architecture and looking for a long term career opportunity. You need to have a knowledge of new build and refurbishment and be able to design in all the main materials. You must live within sensible commuting distance of Croydon and have no visa restrictions. Excellent communication skills are essential as all staff are client facing.

If you have any Party Wall surveying experience or dealing with small awards and condition surveys this would be a definite bonus or someone happy to undergo the training for this. If you are nearing Chartered status this would be even better!

• Running discovery calls and follow-ups. You’ll spend a good portion of your time on the phone or on video calls with homeowners who’ve come to us through our website. These aren’t cold calls. They’re conversations with people who want help but aren’t sure where to start.
• Helping customers define their project. Many homeowners arrive with a vague idea (“we want to extend the kitchen”) and need help turning that into something specific. You’ll ask the right questions, talk through options, and help them understand what’s realistic for their budget.

• Following up (a lot). Renovation decisions don’t happen fast. Customers procrastinate, get busy, wait for a partner to agree, or just need time. A big part of this job is structured, patient follow-up — staying present without being pushy.
• Feeding back what you’re hearing. You’re on the front line. You’ll share patterns you notice — common objections, pricing confusion, questions we can’t answer well — so the product and marketing teams can improve.
  
  

• An ability to manage customer anxiety. Renovation is stressful. Customers worry about cost, disruption, being ripped off, making the wrong choice. You need to be the calm, clear voice in the room.
• Structured follow-up habits. If your natural instinct is to let things slide, this isn’t the right role. You need to be someone who sets a task, does the task, and logs what happened.
• Curiosity about homes, construction, or design. You don’t need a trade background, but you do need to find this stuff genuinely interesting. You’ll be learning about extensions, loft conversions, listed buildings, planning permission, and building regulations. If that sounds dull, this isn’t for you.
• Confidence on the phone and on video. Most of your customer contact will be voice or video calls. You need to be clear, warm, and direct.
