Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator & Developer to design, optimize, and maintain mission-critical databases that power their network analytics and performance platforms. The ideal candidate is experienced, analytical, and deeply skilled in SQL Server architecture and performance engineering.

Important Note: This is a Relocation-Based Role (Netherlands)

Key Responsibilities

Database Architecture & Administration

Design, deploy, and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases supporting large-scale network data.
Implement high-availability and disaster recovery (AlwaysOn, clustering, replication).
Manage database security, encryption, and access controls.
Own schema design, versioning, and database governance processes.

Performance & Reliability

Diagnose and resolve performance issues, deadlocks, and query inefficiencies.
Optimize indexing, partitioning, and I/O throughput.
Build monitoring and alerting frameworks for database health.

ETL & Data Processing

Lead ETL/ELT pipeline development (SSIS, Airflow, Python).
Enhance throughput and reliability for high-volume data ingestion.
Improve data quality and standardization across distributed systems.

Development & Collaboration

Develop stored procedures, views, triggers, and database utilities.
Work closely with backend, DevOps, and analytics teams across multiple regions.
Support application engineers in API and data model integrations.

QualificationsRequired

7–10 years of SQL Server administration and development experience.
Strong expertise in T-SQL and database troubleshooting.
Experience with ETL/ELT tools (SSIS, Airflow) and Python.
Proven experience with HA/DR implementations.
Strong understanding of database security and compliance.
Experience with schema versioning tools (Flyway, Liquibase).
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with telecom network data.
Experience with cloud-managed database services.
Exposure to AI/ML data preparation workflows.
Experience working in small, agile engineering teams.
