Over the past decade, the evolution of distance learning technology and widespread availability of affordable, high-quality video conferencing solutions has allowed for the growth of telepractice in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. Increasingly, practitioners are developing telepractice programs to provide family-centered early intervention, speech and language therapy to children in educational settings, and rehabilitation to adults recovering from traumatic brain injury and aphasia as well as those with speech and swallowing disorders. This group is designed to foster discussion and practicalto students in training, speech-language pathologists, andprofessionals who are establishing or managing telepractice programs. And finally, telepractice is one aspect of a larger environment that includes social media, social networking, connected learning, digital health, mobile health (mHealth), telehealth, connected health, and telemedicine. Information, resources, and discussions about the integration of these topics also will be supported by the group.
