ORAL TESTIMONY The oral history tapes, the richest of the Society’s three major collections, include about 9,000 hours of interviews with people from more than 60 ethnocultural groups. One of the largest in North America, the oral history collection is an amazing archival resource. TEXTUAL andRECORDS The MHSO's collection of textual and photographic materials is vast. Of great interest to individual readers, scholars and libraries from around the world is our ethnic newspaper collection. Containing issues from more than 40 ethnocultural groups, the collection is among the most comprehensive in Canada. During the 1980’s and 1990’s, much of our collection was deposited at the Archives of Ontario. This includes approximately 84,000 late 19th century and 20th century photographs as well as a significant number of textual records.
