Arrowsmith Foundation furthers the development of creative ideas and methods to advance the quality and efficacy of medical education, leading to improvements in medical care and public health. Medical students, residents, and physicians collaborate to achieve the Foundation’s goals.
Arrowsmith Foundation was created by a group of alumni of the Stanford University School of Medicine and Dr. Elliott Wolfe, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Director Office of Student Affairs (1994-2005) and Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine (retired): both at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Our guiding principles include innovation and community building. Arrowsmith is designed for social networking among medical students and physician alumni to meet the challenges of and be complementary to medical education. Using the highest standards, Arrowsmith filters important medical information and delivers it in an accessible form to members: we call this filtering for greatness in medicine.
We believe a medical school’s alumni can be unique teachers who will interweave learning with the discipline of medical practice. The integration of a medical school’s alumni into real-time medical education will be a fundamental shift in the way medical students are educated.
Arrowsmith Foundation utilizes interviews, conferences, lectures, workshops, roundtables, print and electronic publications, and internet websites for teaching, training, and knowledge-sharing. Membership is free to medical students and physicians.
Our Board of Directors is comprised of: Elliott Wolfe, MD, FACP: President and CEO; Noemi “Mimi” Doohan, MD, PhD: Vice-president; Scott Kush MD, JD, MPH: Secretary and Treasurer; Vladimir Jevremovic, JD, MA; Robert Petrossian.
