This group is intended to assist telecommunications professionals from both network owners and support organisations, bringing together ex-vendor knowledge and support capabilities for spares, repairs and maintenance. Businesses across various industry sectors and across the globe have diverse critical infrastructure networks, built over a considerable period of time and from a wide range of technologies. These deployed systems tend to be very reliable and their owners wish to make full use of their investments by continuing to operate, maintain and often further deploy systems. This means that there are ongoing requirements for support of a spectrum of in-use equipment, from relatively new products to aging equipment items, some parts still under warranty to elements discontinued by the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), many of whom no longer exist.
