In 2012, a group of Dutch friends calling themselves the Eleven Gentlemen (De Elf Heeren) purchased a single cask of Glengoyne whisky. The idea was simple: to collect the cask together after ten years with our children—who were still very young at the time—and to let it serve as a symbol of friendship, anchoring trips to Scotland and regular gatherings in the Netherlands. As these things sometimes do, the project grew beyond its original scope. Today, De Elf Heeren proudly owns 21 whisky casks from a variety of distilleries. Each cask yields approximately 300 to 400 bottles, depending on the final bottling strength—whether at cask strength, 46%, or 40%. Bound by a shared passion for whisky, and with our whiskies now slowly reaching maturity and the first bottles ready, we are delighted to begin sharing them with fellow enthusiasts.
