The University of South Florida MPA Alumni Ambassadors are graduates of the USF School of Public Affairs Master of Public Administration program. The ambassadors seek to be the primary linkage for life-long engagement and mentorship between program alumni across the globe and current or prospective students. ASPA’s mission is to advance the art, science, teaching and practice of public and nonprofit administration through its programs and services, and fosters core public service values including: accountability and performance, professionalism, social equity, and ethics at the local, national and international levels. Through its programs and services ASPA seeks to improve public service by helping members acquire the knowledge, technical skills and resources necessary to be excellent public servants. ASPA has a diverse membership of approximately 9,500 government and nonprofit administrators, scholars, educators, and students. Born in early 2012, the Greater New Orleans Chapter of the American Society for(GNO ASPA) serves the following parishes in Louisiana: Orleans, St. Tammany, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, Jefferson, St. John, St. Charles, Lafourche, Terrebonne, Assumption, and St. James. We also welcome members residing in other areas. “Providing professional training for service in the public and nonprofit sectors since 1976.” The mission of the MPA Program is to prepare pre-service and in-service adults for professional careers as managers and leaders in the public and non-profit sectors and to enhance knowledge through scholarship and public service. The primary objective of the MPA Program is to provide professional training in public and non-profit administration. The curriculum emphasizes the development of administrative and analytical skills. Students develop mastery through applied techniques and administrative exercises appropriate to the management of government, nonprofit, and arts-related organizations. MPA students have the option to concentrate their studies in several specialized areas: Non-Profit Management Urban Management & Policy ArtsEmergency Management Certificates are available to students wanting specialized training within Non-Profit Management , and Emergency Management; but not necessarily interested in pursuing a Masters degree.
