Position Overview

The Process Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of employees, the quality of products, and the efficiency of processes within the organization. This position directly impacts the department's ability to meet delivery schedules, improve operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineer will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage projects, and ensure flawless implementation of new launches to meet organizational goals.

What you'll do

Broad Function and Purpose of Position: Directs and coordinates activities of the production shift ‐ plan, organize and control production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard.

• Ensure shift meets profitable production goals and quality goals, while remaining within budget limitations.
• Act as interface between plant management and production staff.
• Lead continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate processes and problem-solving tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
• Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization – consults with Engineering and Maintenance personnel relative to modification of machines.
• Organize and cross‐train worker teams for maximum production flexibility.
• Provide input in establishing production and quality control standards.
• Assist the coordination and execution of production trials, process improvement projects through team project management.
• Use KPIs to assess, analyze and track manufacturing process as it relates to goals and objectives.
• Ensure implementation and evolution of safety guidelines and procedures – conduct monthly safety meetings, oversees safety‐related training, implements, and enforces safety guidelines, conducts accident investigations, ensures compliance with safety regulations and programs.
• Provide input to Production Manager on developing budget and plant costs controls.
• Monitor every stage of production, analyzing current methods and developing new ways to save steps, time, and materials to reduce costs.
• Coordinate the hiring and training of all shift production personnel.
• Responsible for shift production workforce performance ‐ fully engage workforce and promote personal accountability by identifying goals, empowering employees, and foster continuous learning by providing ongoing feedback on employee performance with formal evaluations and regular one‐on‐one coaching.
• Resolve employee grievances, keeping Production Manager informed.

Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000, based on skills and experience.

• Qualifications/Experience/Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemical or other related degree preferred or 2+ years progressive experience in a key leadership / management role at a manufacturing facility with technical aptitude and analytical skills.
• Strong solid computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products: (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Ability to function in a team driven organization.
• Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Critical thinking and problem‐solving skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma.

• Als Process Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor het introduceren en optimaliseren van processen en machines in de productieomgeving.
• Je analyseert procesknelpunten en engineert oplossingen als Process Engineer;
• Je beheert projectactiviteiten en fungeert als projectmanager voor productintroducties, inclusief het opvragen van offertes en het opstellen van PFD en P&ID;
• Je implementeert MOC-procedures en voert planmatige verbeteringen door om efficiëntie, kwaliteit en veiligheid te verhogen;
• Je voert dagelijkse productierondes uit, stelt machine-instellingen bij en verdeelt acties met productie- en TD-coördinatoren;
• Je ontwikkelt rapportages en ondersteunt de automatisering van de productieplanning door ERP-data te vertalen naar werkvloerinformatie als Process Engineer;
• Je ondersteunt seriesproductie en productintroducties voor low-mix / high-volume chemische tussenproducten met variabele recepten in batch en semi-continu processen;

• HBO in Chemische Technologie, Werktuigbouwkunde, Industriële Automatisering of gelijkwaardig;.
• 2 tot 5 jaar ervaring als Process Engineer of vergelijkbare ervaring in de procesindustrie;.
• Ervaring met PFD- en P&ID-tekeningen;.
• Ervaring met projectmanagement en MOC-procedures;.
• Ervaring met ERP-systemen en het vertalen van data naar werkvloerinformatie;.
