And of course, happy to answer any questions you have about the role, team or organization.
Sounds great! I’m free Thursday afternoon or Friday morning, before we lock in, could you share the target salary range and remote/hybrid expectations?
Hi R***, Thanks for asking. For this Head of Generative AI & ML Architecture role, we’re targeting a base salary in the $250K,$300K range (depending on experience), plus a performance bonus of approximately 20,30% and a meaningful equity package. As for work location, N***s operates on a hybrid model out of our San Francisco office, typically 2,3 days onsite per week with remaining days remote. Does that align with your expectations? If so, would Thursday at 2:00 PM PT or Friday at 10:00 AM PT work for our 30,45 minute call with the VP of Engineering? Looking forward to your thoughts. Best, J***e
Thanks, that range and hybrid schedule sound good to me,could you share a bit more on the equity package and vesting terms? Thursday at 2:00 PM PT works great for a call.
Hi R***, Glad to hear the range and hybrid model work for you. For this role we’re targeting a meaningful equity grant in the range of 0.5%,1.0% of fully diluted shares (exact sizing will depend on experience and final title). Our standard vesting is over four years with a one-year cliff and monthly vesting thereafter, plus eligibility for annual refresh grants tied to performance milestones. I’ve locked in Thursday at 2:00 PM PT for your 30,45 minute conversation with our VP of Engineering, look out for a calendar invite shortly. Please let me know if you need anything else beforehand. Best, J***e
Thanks, J***e,Thursday at 2:00 PM PT works for me. The 0.5,1.0% equity grant sounds compelling; could you share a bit more on the performance milestones and timing for those annual refresh grants? Looking forward to the chat with your VP of Engineering.
Hi R***, Great question. Our annual equity refresh grants are designed to reward continued impact and align with both company and individual performance. Here’s how it typically works: • Timing: Your first refresh grant becomes eligible at your one-year work anniversary, with subsequent grants awarded annually shortly after our fiscal-year performance review cycle (usually Q1). • Size: Refreshes generally range from 10% to 25% of your original grant size, scaled to role, level and the year’s objectives. • Milestones: We tie refresh grants to a mix of company-wide and individual goals, for example: , Successful delivery of your multi-year GenAI roadmap milestones (e.g., launching retrieval-augmented pipelines or multimodal proof-of-concepts) , Achieving target performance gains (such as sub-second inference at scale or a defined percentage reduction in GPU costs) , MLOps maturity metrics (automated CI/CD coverage, deployment frequency, drift detection thresholds) , Leadership and team-enablement outcomes (mentorship goals, design-review cadence, cross-team adoption). Of course, the specifics will be calibrated with you and our VP of Engineering during your first year. We’ll review your progress each spring and adjust refresh sizing based on achieved results and next-year targets. Hope that clarifies, let me know if you’d like any more detail before we connect on Thursday at 2 PM PT. Looking forward to the conversation! Best, J***e
Thanks, J***e,that helps a lot. Just curious: when you say 10,25% of the original grant, what’s the typical refresh for a Head-level role hitting those GenAI roadmap milestones? And how granular are the individual vs. company goals in practice?
Hi R***, For a Head-level role that consistently hits its GenAI roadmap milestones, refresh grants tend to land toward the upper end of that 10,25% range, think roughly 15,20% of your original grant in year two, with top performers sometimes seeing closer to 25%. As for goal granularity, we typically blend broad company-level objectives (e.g., overall revenue growth from GenAI offerings, market adoption metrics) with highly specific individual targets. In practice that looks like: • Company Goals (40,50% of your performance score): , Annual revenue or customer-adoption thresholds , Key strategic launches (e.g., first multimodal proof-of-concept in Q3) • Individual Goals (50,60%): , Delivery of defined roadmap milestones (e.g., live retrieval-augmented pipelines by mid-year) , Quantifiable performance improvements (sub-second inference at scale, 20% GPU cost reduction) , MLOps KPIs (CI/CD coverage >90%, deployment frequency, drift-alert SLAs) , Team-enablement metrics (mentor X engineers, lead Y design reviews, cross-team adoption rates) This split ensures you’re driving both the big-picture business impact and the day-to-day technical wins that keep us ahead in GenAI. Looking forward to diving deeper with our VP of Engineering on Thursday at 2:00 PM PT. Let me know if you need anything else beforehand! Best, J***e

Thursday 14:00,15:00 works for me. One quick thing, could you share a ballpark salary range and your remote/hybrid policy?
Hi U***i, Great,Thursday 14:00,15:00 is booked. As for compensation, for a VP of AI & ML in our FinTech/LegalTech space we’re looking at a base salary in the ballpark of $180K,$220K USD, plus a target annual bonus of 20,25% and meaningful equity participation. On remote/hybrid, we operate a flexible model: leaders typically spend 2,3 days per week in our Tel Aviv hub (for core team meetings and strategic workshops) and can work remotely the rest of the time. We’re also open to occasional fully remote weeks when travel or personal needs arise. Hope that helps, let me know if you’d like any more detail before our call. Looking forward to speaking on Thursday! Best, J***e HR Recruiter, StrategyBrain
Thanks, J***e,that range and flexible hybrid setup sound good. Could you share a bit more on the typical equity package and vesting schedule for this VP level? Looking forward to chatting on Thursday.
Hi U***i, Glad to hear the range and hybrid model work for you. At the VP level, we typically grant stock options in the ballpark of 0.3,0.6% of I***h’s fully diluted equity. These options vest over four years with a 1-year cliff (25% at month 12, then monthly thereafter). We also have annual refresh grants to recognize ongoing leadership impact. The exact number within that range is tied to your seniority and the role’s scope, and I’d be happy to walk through potential scenarios on Thursday’s call. Please let me know if there’s anything else you’d like clarified beforehand. Looking forward to our conversation! Best, J***e HR Recruiter, StrategyBrain
Thanks for the clarity, J***e , the 0.3,0.6% range makes sense. Could you share what a typical annual refresh grant looks like (rough % of equity) so I have the full picture before Thursday?
Hi U***i, Great question. At the VP level, our annual refresh grants typically fall in the 0.05%,0.15% equity range (roughly 20%,30% of your initial grant), with a one-year vesting schedule. This cadence ensures ongoing recognition of your leadership contributions and keeps your incentives aligned with I***h’s growth. I’ll be happy to walk through the specifics and how we structure them during our call on Thursday. In the meantime, let me know if any other details would be helpful. Looking forward to speaking soon! Best, J***e HR Recruiter, StrategyBrain
Thanks, J***e,the 0.05,0.15% refresh sounds reasonable. Just one more thing: are those refresh grants purely time-based or tied to specific performance milestones each year?
Hi U***i, Great question. Our annual refresh grants vest 100% over one year (time-based), but the actual grant size within that 0.05,0.15% range is determined during our annual performance review cycle. In other words, eligibility and grant amount are tied to your year-end performance rating, while the vesting itself follows the one-year schedule. We can walk through the full process and any performance metrics we use on Thursday’s call. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to dig into beforehand. Looking forward to our conversation! Best, J***e HR Recruiter, StrategyBrain

Final details will of course hinge on scope and fit, but this should give you a ballpark. I’ve booked Tuesday, 10:00,11:00 AM PT. You’ll see a calendar invite shortly. Looking forward to diving deeper and answering any other questions you have. Best, J***
Thanks, J***! The 2-day office cadence sounds right up my alley, very similar to what I run at P***n C***s. One quick ask: can you share a ballpark on the equity grant size or vesting structure? Looking forward to our chat Tuesday.
Hi B***, Absolutely. For a role at this level, we’re looking at roughly 0.25%,0.5% of the company on a fully-diluted basis. The package typically vests over four years with a one-year cliff and then monthly vesting thereafter. We can dig into the finer points on Tuesday’s call, but that range should give you a solid frame of reference. Let me know if anything else comes up before then, otherwise, I’ll talk with you at 10:00 AM PT on Tuesday. Best, J***
Thanks, J***,0.25,0.5% makes sense and mirrors similar setups I’ve seen at P***n C***s. Just curious if there’s any change-of-control acceleration or refresh grants down the line. See you at 10am on Tuesday!
Hi B***, Great question. D***e’s equity plan includes standard change-of-control protection, typically a single-trigger acceleration on unvested shares. On top of that, we run an annual refresh-grant program for senior leaders, with awards sized to performance and company milestones. We can go through the precise mechanics and timing on our call Tuesday at 10 AM PT. Looking forward to diving in! Best, J***

Hi D***o, I hope you’re doing well. I came across your work leading AI safety and alignment efforts at A***c and O***I,your experience building steerable, interpretable, and robust systems really stood out. Would you be open to a brief conversation to explore this opportunity further?
Hey J***e, thanks for reaching out, this role at S***e sounds intriguing. I’ve been heads-down on safety and alignment at A***c (and before that O***I), so I’d love to chat. When’s a good time for you?
Hi D***o , thanks for getting back to me. I’d be delighted to dive deeper into the Chief AI Safety and Alignment Officer role at S***e. Briefly, S***e is a mission-driven team of technical experts, policy advisors and ethicists focused on developing steerable, interpretable and human-aligned AI. In this role you would: • Define and drive our global AI safety and alignment research agenda, leveraging your experience scaling and guiding GPT-2/3 and A***c efforts • Lead interdisciplinary research teams to build robust, value-aligned models • Partner with engineering, policy and ethics functions to embed safety across products • Represent S***e at industry, academic and regulatory forums • Shape academic partnerships and public-sector benchmarks This position sits at the heart of our strategic vision and offers significant scope to shape standards, mentor top talent and influence global AI governance. We offer competitive compensation, equity incentives, and resources to support your research initiatives. Would you be available for a 30-minute call this week? I’m free Wednesday at 11:00 AM PT or Thursday at 2:00 PM PT, but happy to find another slot that works for you. Please let me know which time suits you best, or feel free to suggest an alternative. Also, if you have any immediate questions about the role, I’m here to help!
Thursday at 2:00 PM PT works for me. Quick question before we chat: is this role fully remote or do you expect regular on-site time in San Francisco?
Hi D***o, Great question. S***e is a remote-first organization, so you can lead from wherever you’re based. We do, however, hold periodic in-person strategy sessions and team gatherings at our San Francisco hub (typically a few times a year), but there’s no regular weekly on-site requirement. We’re flexible and can tailor the cadence to your schedule. Looking forward to diving into this on Thursday at 2:00 PM PT. Let me know if you need anything beforehand! Best, J***e
Great, thanks for clarifying. One quick follow-up,how many in-person sessions do you typically run each year and how long do they usually last? Looking forward to our call Thursday at 2 PM PT.
Hi D***o, Great question. We typically run about three in-person strategy sessions each year, and they generally last one to two days each, enough time for deep-dive workshops and cross-functional alignment without taking you away from your day-to-day. Of course, we remain flexible and can adjust the cadence or duration based on your availability. Looking forward to our call on Thursday at 2 PM PT. Let me know if anything else comes up in the meantime! Best, J***e
Sounds reasonable, three 1,2 day sessions a year should fit well with my A***c commitments. Looking forward to our call Thursday at 2 PM PT. Quick Q before then: do you usually tie those strategy sessions to specific milestones or external events?
Hi D***o, Great question. We usually anchor our three annual strategy sessions around key inflection points in our research and governance calendar, for example, our Q1 kickoff to set priorities, a mid-year progress review (often timed just before major AI conferences or consortium meetings), and a year-end road-mapping session to align on objectives for the following year. That said, we’re fully flexible: if there’s a high-impact external event, say, a regulatory forum or a flagship publication deadline,we can shift or combine sessions to make the most of those opportunities. Looking forward to diving into more detail on Thursday at 2 PM PT. Feel free to shoot over any other questions in the meantime! Best, J***e
Thanks for the breakdown, J***e,that sounds reasonable. As someone juggling A***c commitments and major AI conferences, how far in advance do you typically lock in dates and themes for each session?
Hi D***o, We typically lock in dates about three to four months ahead , for example, we’ll finalize our Q1 kickoff dates by November, set the mid-year session in January (to land just before key conferences), and confirm the year-end workshop by September. As for themes, we draft and circulate a proposed agenda around six to eight weeks before each session, allowing time for your input and any shifts around major events or paper deadlines. Does that timeline fit with your A***c calendar and conference plans? Happy to adjust as needed. Looking forward to diving deeper on Thursday at 2 PM PT. Best, J***e

Hi R***, Thanks for flagging these important points. 1. Remote/Hybrid Flexibility While V***a’s R&D and cross-functional teams are headquartered near our manufacturing site, the Nutraceutical Product Development Manager role follows a hybrid model: we typically aim for 2,3 days onsite each week (to lead lab work, supplier meetings and strategy sessions) and allow remote work the remainder of the time. Hi R***, Great question. This approach aligns long-term incentives with our product milestones and gives you meaningful ownership as you help drive V***a’s growth. I’ll send over the calendar invite for Thursday at 2:00 PM EET shortly. During our call, we can walk through any additional details around equity, benefits, and how you’ll partner with the R&D team to bring new formulations to market. Hi J***e, Great questions. At S***s we do build in refresh grants for our executive team, typically on an annual cadence aligned with your performance review and our fiscal year close. For a CGO role, refreshes generally fall in the 0.1%,0.2% range (depending on performance and company milestones). Thanks for the overview , this really aligns with my high-availability and crisis-management experience. Before we lock in a call, could you share a bit more on the remote/hybrid policy and the equity range? I’m good for Wednesday at 2 PM CET.
Hi A***, Great questions. G***h follows a flexible hybrid model: we generally expect leaders to spend about 2,3 days per week in our Zurich office for strategy sessions and team huddles, with the remainder fully remote. There’s also the option to adjust for critical DR exercises or client workshops. For equity, the typical range for this VP role is between 0.2% and 0.4% of the company, vesting over four years with a one-year cliff. This sits alongside a competitive Swiss base salary and an annual performance bonus. Wednesday at 2 PM CET works perfectly,I'll send over a calendar invite shortly. Looking forward to chatting! Best, J***
Thanks, J***,this looks great and the equity range aligns with my expectations. One quick thing: are the 2,3 office days a fixed weekly schedule or more flexible when DR exercises pop up? Talk to you Wednesday at 2 PM!
Hi A***, Great question. The 2,3 days in Zurich are more of a guideline for core collaboration, think strategy sessions, team huddles and planning workshops. When a DR exercise or critical incident pops up, you’ll have full flexibility to shift those in-office days (or even work remotely) so you can lead the response effectively. In practice, we’ll coordinate week-to-week based on priorities and your incident-management schedule. Looking forward to diving into this on Wednesday at 2 PM,calendar invite is on its way! Best, J***
Thanks, J***,that flexibility is exactly what I was hoping for given my on-call firefighting background. How do you typically lock in which 2,3 days I’d be in Zurich each week,do teams set a fixed schedule or is it coordinated week-to-week?
Hi A***, We follow a “core days” approach to balance consistency with flexibility. Typically, teams agree on two fixed in-office days, often Tuesday and Thursday, for strategy sessions and workshops. The third day is more fluid: each week you’ll coordinate with your direct reports and team leads (via our shared scheduling tool) to lock in which day works best around your on-call or DR commitments. When a critical exercise pops up, you simply shift that in-office day (or work remotely) so you can lead the response. Looking forward to walking you through this in our call on Wednesday at 2 PM CET. Best, J***
That setup sounds great and really mirrors how I juggle fire drills and on-call shifts. Quick question, does the shared scheduling tool auto-sync with our calendars to reflect DR commitments, or will I need to manually carve out that third day each week? Looking forward to Wednesday!
Hi A***, Great question, our shared scheduling tool integrates with your corporate calendar (Outlook/Google), so any DR or on-call blocks you’ve already marked as “Busy” will automatically populate and adjust that third day for you. Of course, you can still make manual tweaks week-to-week if needed. Looking forward to our call on Wednesday at 2 PM CET,invite is in your inbox. Let me know if anything else comes up before then! Best, J***

Thanks, that’s really helpful. Could you clarify the cadence and typical duration/locations of those quarterly in-person strategy sessions? And any ballpark figures on the equity range you’re considering for this executive slot?
Hi G***e, Great questions. Our quarterly in-person strategy sessions are set at the start of each quarter, usually running 1.5,2 days. We rotate locations among F***s’s main hubs in Europe and Latin America (for example, Madrid, Brussels/London, São Paulo, Mexico City), often pairing the offsite with leadership workshops and key stakeholder dinners. On equity, we’re planning a competitive executive package in the ballpark of 0.8%,1.2% of outstanding shares, delivered as stock options vesting over four years (with a one-year cliff). We can refine the exact figure during our call based on your seniority and the scope of the role. Looking forward to diving into this more on Wednesday at 14:00 CET!
