The Buetians who have finished their BUET life find the campus, the canteen, the playground, the hangout of their friends, the memorials of their lost youth in their casual work. And with the aim of bringing all those practices under one roof, some Buetians once thought of forming a social club in 2018. When these enthusiastic Buetians were reminded of Buet Alumni, Alumni President Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury gave his nod to the matter with redoubled enthusiasm. Sowing the seeds of dream victory has begun. On September 22, 2018, in the presence of more than two hundred Buetians at Dhaka Club, enterprising Buetians expressed their dream of victory. There, BUET Vice-Chancellor, former teachers, Bangla Academy and Ekushey Padak awardedand engineers, country's top local builders, technicians, architects expressed their solidarity. In that meeting, Prof. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury announced the name of a 16-member ad-hoc committee by convening engineer Golam Mohammad Alamgir on the decision to name 'BUET Graduates Club' proposed by BUET VC. Two months after that, a discussion meeting was organized with the batch representatives in another club in Dhaka. From 1962 till this time the matter was discussed with the representatives of each batch of BUET graduates. Our journey began with the hope of getting something better than dreams and the club's Liazzo office was opened in a flat in Gulshan. Limited activities were started at the Liaison office of the club. The club's liaison office has been operating for about two years. In order to fulfill the dreams of Buetinayans, in August 2019, the renovation work started with the lease of the house # 67 on the bank of Banani lake in the capital for 10 years. Falling into the hands of a Buetian architect, its 15,000-square-footwas transformed overnight. A new shiny club building was built in a short time.
