Home Care Health Services strives to provide cost effective, intelligent and compassionate care to patients in Manitowoc and Sheboygan County. We make it possible for clients to stay independent and in their homes. Services are tailored to fit individual clients needs. Help with shopping, medications, laundry, meal preparation, bill paying and personal care are just a few of the ways that our caring staff can be of assistance. Our services can be scheduled anywhere from 1 hour per day, once a month, or even up to 24 hours per day. Each month over 400 visits are made to the SECOR Food Bank. They are not given a box of food they may or may not be able to use; they experienced the SECOR difference – shopping our food bank for food that includes fresh deli items, milk, eggs, and meat. They select from stocked shelves of non-perishable items such as spaghetti sauce and pasta. The first week of the month they receive laundry detergent and, when available, other personal care items. They finish their visit selecting among pastries, wholesome breads and fresh produce. Generous individuals, corporations, foundations and localmake all this possible. While SECOR is just five years old, the roots go back much farther. Our Christmas Outreach, which last year served over 2900 children and their families, began many years ago with a small group of friends at a local church. Through the years, those involved began to realize the great need in their area not just at Christmas but year around. The vision for a full service food bank where people would be met with dignity and compassion as they shopped for needed items turned into reality six years ago. Since then SECOR has grown quickly and added other services. Clients now have access to emergency financial aid for rent, utilities or other life essential needs. Referrals to counseling are provided; fees are based on a sliding scale or paid by SECOR. SECOR has a group of dedicated volunteers who provide complementary financial and budget training to help guide people to self-sufficiency.

They also accompany clients to medical visits and wait for them to complete their treatment so they may have a familiar face to escort them home. The services we provide are multiplied by our being able to provide employment for those in need. For our younger workers, many of whom are heads of a household with children, we provide them with steady employment to care and create safe and stable homes for them and their families.
