The Magic Valley Symphony was born as the Twin Falls Civic Symphony, growing from the nucleus of musicians who played for the first Dilettantes of Magic Valley production, "Carousel," in March 1959. Starting rehearsals in the fall of 1959, the first performance was on February 1, 1960, in the old O'Leary Junior High Auditorium under the direction of Richard Smith, string teacher for Twin Falls Schools. Del Slaughter, another music educator for the school district, became conductor in 1963 and led the Symphony for twelve seasons. Under Slaughter's leadership as director, and his wife Julienne Slaughter as concertmaster, the Symphony's two concerts per season featured soloists from southern Idaho, the University of Idaho, and the Salt Lake City area. In November 1969, the orchestra gave its first concert in the new College of Southern IdahoAuditorium. Because the orchestra had come to include so many people from outside Twin Falls, the Symphony's name was changed to the Magic Valley Symphony in 1970. In 1975 Lawrence Curtis, a professor of music at CSI, took over the baton. From 1977 to 1982, Curtis brought nationally- and internationally-known solo artists every November. Through the years the Magic Valley Symphony has continued to grow and present noted artists and guest conductors. The Symphony has continued our the tradition of encouraging young musicians by presenting their biennial Youth Soloist Concert in even-numbered years, helping sponsor the Magic Valley Youth Orchestra, sponsoring workshops and master classes with guest artists, offering scholarships to CSI Music Fest and other music camps, and supporting the youth outreach efforts of the Magic Valley Symphony League's Carma's Kids program. Art displays by local adult and youth visual artists have graced the wonderful new Fine Arts Auditorium foyer before many of the Symphony's recent concerts.

Art in the Atrium, Inc. (ATA) is a 501C (3) non-profit, volunteer art organization based in Morris County, New Jersey. This organization has been showcasing fine art by established and emerging African American artists since 1992. Since its inception Art in the Atrium has provided an introduction and educational venue at the community level, especially for school-aged children, to the appreciation of art, specifically African American fine art. Current programing includes: Our Annual Exhibition held January - March at The Atrium Gallery in Morristown, New Jersey which includes an opening reception, as well as private tours; The Cardell Oliphant Scholarship, given annually to a high school senior who will be matriculating in the Visualas a full time student in an accredited institution of higher learning; and, The Art-In-The-Schools Project, artist residencies throughout the Morris School District that benefit between 200 to 500 students annually. The Baylor University Department of Theatre Arts is an elite program combining an excellent liberal arts education with rigorous training in both academic and artistic fields of theatre study. The department is ranked among the top 20 undergraduate theatre programs in the United States and is accredited by the National Association ofof Theatre. The UK Children's Fine Art Competition (UKCFAC) is a highly rewarding, all inclusive, international fine art competition and exhibition. While a serious art competition in itself it also aims to raise the aspirations of children and reduce levels of racism around the world; forit provides cross-curricular learning opportunities in History, Geography, Citizenship, Religious Studies...as well as Art The UK Children's Fine Art Competition is the UK partner to the annual International Children's Exhibition of Fine(ICEFA) - one of the largest and most established fine art exhibitions in the world. The ICEFA has been running for 41 years now and receives, on average, 30,000 entries from around 70 countries. It is organized and coordinated by The Lidice Gallery in Lidice, Czech Republic. All entries received by the UKCFAC will be considered by our judges for submission to the ICEFA. You may be aware that it was the village of Lidice which was bulldozed by the Nazis in a filmed atrocity in June 1942. All men were shot, the children gassed and the women sent to concentration camps. For today's world the Lidice story is very important as it was the fundraising efforts and the actions of ordinary people, in defiance of Hitler, which saw the eventual rebuilding of Lidice after the Second World War. It is also important to note that the man who led the campaign, the councillor Barnett Stross, was a Polish immigrant of jewish faith.
