Northern Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management (NKY SHRM) is a local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM, the leading voice of the human resource profession, provides education, training, government representation, and is a comprehensive source of human resource information. NKY SHRM is a not-for-profit organization focused on the development of individuals in the human resource profession. Professional certification is an integral part of this development. HRCI is an affiliate of SHRM and offers several levels of Human Resource Certification. Part of NKY SHRM’s commitment to its members is to encourage certification by providing information and ongoing re-certification credits. Founded in 1974, NKY SHRM is comprised of member companies from the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area and boasts 100’s of members from small local companies to large international firms. Welcome to the College of Management's (COM) Linked In group. We are a college that offers - Nine Bachelor of Science degrees - Seven Bachelor of Applied Science degrees - Two master's programs - Seven master's certificates - The applied Doctor of Business Administration. Students enjoy the benefits of attending a large university without losing the personal touch of a small college. Although we serve over 5,000 students a year, we have kept the class size small: an average of 22 students per section. This combination enables them to better help our students take the theory and apply it to practical situations in the "real world." The national recognition received by our quality programs has led to a nearly $5 million grant to develop a Center of Excellence in Information Security and Technology. We teach our undergraduate programs at over 11 sites throughout the Twin Cities. Respite is planned or emergency care provided to a child or adult with special needs in order to provide temporary relief to family caregivers who are caring for that child or adult. According to the Lifespan Respite Care Act (PL 109-442), Lifespan Respite is defined as “coordinated systems of community-based respite for family caregivers of children or adults regardless of special need.” The mission of the ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center is to assist and promote the development of quality respite and crisis care programs; tofamilies locate respite and crisis carein their communities; and to serve as a strong voice for respite in all forums. The ARCH National Respite Network includes the National Respite Locator, a service to help caregivers and professionals locate respite services in their community, the National Respite Coalition, a service that advocates for preserving and promoting respite in policy and programs at the national, state, and local levels, and the Center for Lifespan Respite T/TA which is funded by the Administration for Community Living in the US Department of Health and Human Services.
