The Medicaid program, enacted in 1965 under Title XIX of the Social Security Act (the Act) is a grant in aid Medical Assistance Program financed through joint Federal and state funding and administered by each state according to an approved state plan. The Human Factors Engineering Technical Group (HFE TAG) was implemented in 1976 for the purpose of coordinating and communicating research and development at the working level among the services and other Government agencies involved in HFE. The TAG is composed of technical representatives from the Department of Defense (DoD), National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with research and development responsibility in human factors and related disciplines. The scope of the technical areas addressed by the TAG is broad due to the diversity of the subject matter covered by the HFE discipline. SubTAGs were established in order to address specific areas in more detail. Here are the current SubTAG areas: Cognitive Readiness; Controls and Displays; Design: Tools and Techniques; Extreme Environments; HFE/HSI; Human Modeling & Simulation; Human Performance Measurement; Personnel Selection & Class; Standardization; System Safety, Health Hazards, Survivability; Technical Society-Industry; Test & Evaluation; Training; Unmanned Systems; User-Computer Interaction.
