NASBLA’s mission is to strengthen the ability of the state and territorial boating authorities to reduce death, injury and property damage associated with recreational boating and ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable boating environment. The NPDC was established at the first National Pediatric Coalition Disaster Conference in November 2015 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The conference was attended by over 200 participants and was dedicated to sharing up-to-date presentations and interactive discussions related to current pediatric coalition practices and future planning. The NPDC includes nationally recognized Pediatric Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Experts supporting ASPR, NACCD, CDC, HRSA, FEMA, Homeland Security and EMSC. The NPDC is an advocacy group dedicated to encouraging engagement in preparedness programs and activities that will provide the best outcome for children and families in disasters. The NPDC also serves as an information clearinghouse on Pediatric Disaster Preparedness informed by real-world events, pediatric disaster research, and evolving best practices. Our NPDC listserv connects a broad network of local, regional, and national community and governmental providers, including physicians, nurses, mental health providers, EMS professionals, and emergency managers.
