ImpactJFX is a diverse collection of professionals working across the sustainability field (and in many cases, across the world) and based or connected by NYC. As my wife and I prepared to move from LA to Portland, I used Linked In to find sustainability professionals. My first surprising discovery was Eric Corey Freed, a friend in the field that I met 20-years earlier at a sustainability gathering in San Francisco. Then I found old friends like Nancy Zavada, Sean Penrith, Morgan Rider, Nancy Gillis, Sarah O'Brien and more. I connected with them and a couple dozen others over LinkedIn and by the time I arrived in Portland, I had a great collection of friends I already knew from the field and who were all in Portland. After a few casual gatherings, we organized, started meeting more regularly, and held several formal gatherings throughout the City. We've since grown to 300+ and hosted 17 amazing events where 30-60 people get together, share ideas, knowledge and stories and make lasting professional connections. We've co-hosted with Ecotrust, Freshwater Trust, various, CERES, and other fantastic businesses who sometimes even share their space. We've also spun up ImpactYCR (in Vancouver, BC) and are looking to spin up even more locations in 2024. Join us and get to know sustainability professionals from all walks of the field.
