Supporting Families SIDS and Kids NSW provide 24 hour bereavement support for individuals and families who tragically experience the death of their baby or young child during pregnancy, birth, infancy or childhood. This includes miscarriage, stillbirth, sudden infant death (SIDS) or the death of a child for any reason up to 6 years of age. Community Education Up to date quality education programs to ensure the prevention of sudden and unexpected deaths during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood. BereavementA Bereavement Support Line is available 24 hours per, 365 days a year. This is supported by face to face counselling, support for siblings and relatives, home/hospital visits, group support and provision of literature. Research Continued research to investigate the cause/s of SIDS and perinatal, infant and childhood deaths. Advocacy and Special Projects Our participation in local, national and international committees which focus on SIDS, perinatal and infant deaths. In these forums we represent the interests of the general community and bereaved parents.
