FILEMAKER 12 is the newest version of Filemaker, a powerful and easy to program database that runs in many platforms (Windows, Macs, Unix and Linux) without any changes to the data source, it can be transparently moved from one system to the other. SQL can be use as its "data behind" sustaining data system, but FILEMAKER comes with its own robust relational database that has more features and safety features than other databases can offer to the novice or to the programmer of common business sized companies. The Bio-medical companies that originally were established in California and which have moved to our Florida state , are frequent users of this software to help scientific users to keep track of thier data collection. I have used the FILEMAKER to produce very effective databases on the drug addiction treatment agencies here in Miami (The Village South) and now I have been using it to keep track of scholarships for the poor children at a statewide data collection system.
