Intelligent Robotics and Digital Manufacturing (IRDM) Research Group This is multi-disciplinary research group working with Prof. C.S.Kumar of the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIT Kharagpur. Our work covers various aspects of Intelligent Robotics primarily based on an underlyingeither available or built by us to solve complex problems of science and engineering of the current times. Understandably, this requires fabrication and manufacturing with current technologies available in various material domains of mechanical, electronic, semiconductor, photonic, biological etc. Here the scholars and senior students working in related areas would use this platform to share their experiences, achievements as individuals, group at IIT Kharagpur having worked in the labs mentioned below. Robotics and Intelligent Systems (RIS) Laboratory : Motion Control, Navigation, and autonomous robotics in industrial, underwater, humanoid, and biomedical domains. Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM) Laboratory: Additive Manufacturing using Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing concepts with a variety of materials, designs and manufacturing processes suitable to achieve properties of interest. Micro-Nano-Robotics Fabrication and Characterization (MNRFC) Facility to address the challenges in material processing requiring precision scale fabrication, robotics and manufacturing at micro-, nano-meter scale levels. High-Performance Computing Networks and Systems as an area that connects most of our digitally managed systems in our labs and across the world in real-time with Quality-of-Service considerations as needed.
