Electric Power Systems Research is an international medium for the publication of original papers concerned with the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical energy. The journal aims to present to the international community important results of work in this field, whether in the form of research, development, application or design. The scope of Electric Power Systems Research is broad, encompassing all aspects of electric power systems. An energy crisis is any great bottleneck (or price rise) in the supply of energy resources to an economy. Since the early 2000s the demand for energy, especially from liquid fuels, and limits on the rate of fuel production has created such a bottleneck leading to the current energy crisis. Pellet fuels are heating fuels made from compressed biomass. Wood pellets are the most common type. A form of wood fuel, wood pellets are generally made from compacted sawdust or other wastes from sawmilling and other agri wastes like groundnut shell, coffee husk etc, Pellets are manufactured in several types and grades as fuels for electric power plants, homes, and other applications in between. Pellets are extremely dense and can be produced with a low moisture content (below 10%) that allows them to be burned with a very high combustion efficiency.With the surge in the price of fossil fuels since 2005, the demand for pellet heating has increased in Europe and North America, and in India this fuel is slowly emerging as an alternate fuel for commercial applications. High-efficiency wood pellet stoves and boilers have been developed in recent years, typically offering combustion efficiencies of over 85%. The newest generation of wood pellet boilers can work in condensing mode and therefore archive 12% higher efficiency values,Pellet burners capable of being retrofitted to oil-burning boilers are also available. The goal of this project is to create a prototype for an electric generator. Think of the type of generator that you would use if the power went out. Our generator is the same concept, but it would not require any kind of fuel to sustain its function, and it would not produce any harmful exhausts. If successful, this prototype will be marketed, while more research and development go into producing other applications for this technology. We currently have a Kickstarter.com campaign to raise funds to create a "Proof of Concept" device to prove that the viability of this technology!

The overall aim of the EnergyKeeper project is to design, develop and test a novel, scalable, sustainable and cost competitive flow battery based on organic redox active materials. A 100kW redox flow battery with a capacity of 350 kWh will be constructed and equipped with an interoperable Battery Management System enabling plug and play integration into a Smart Grid. Communications architecture, grid control and demand side management systems will be designed and implemented in order to demonstrate the added value of using energy storage systems to provide ancillary services to thegrid. The developed technologies will be integrated with real RES,Vehicle chargers and variableconsumption demonstrated at the ACRRES test site (http://acrres.nl/en/). Finally EnergyKeeper will develop several prosumer business models oriented to different types of communities in order to demonstrate that EnergyKeeper storage system will bring economic profit to end-users while providing stability to the electricity grid. EnergyKeeper is financed by the EU. The EU stimulates the development of the next generation of competitive technologies and services for the electricity distribution grid at medium and low voltage levels. These technologies and services should enable advanced solutions for demand-response, smart grid, storage and energy system integration while respecting the needed stability and security in the context of an increasing share of variable renewable energy sources in the electricity grid. The energyKeeper project has started in January 2017 and will continue for three years. In the project 10 partners are involved.
