Virtual heritage and cultural heritage have independent meanings: cultural heritage refers to "properties and sites with tangible and intangible triational owner values, archaeological, aesthetic and historical value"; and virtual heritage refers to instances and expereinces where these objects, sites and values are displayed within a technological domain. There are two key terms used to describe virtual heritage: virtual heritage and cultural heritage and technology. Virtual heritage is more commonly used in Australasia, whereas cultural heritage and technology is more commonly used in Europe. Many virtual heritage projects focus on the tangible aspects of cultural heritage, for example 3D modelling, graphics and animation. In doing so they often overlook the intangible aspects of cultural heritage associated with the properties and sites, such as stories, performances and dances. The tangible aspects of cultural heritage are not inseparable from the intangible.

In 1979 an Archaeological provision was initiated for Bexley Council under its Directorate of Education, to create an Archaeological Unit, operating through its Youth and Community Service. So the remit was educational, targeting schools, Community Groups, Pupil Referral Units and the Probation Service’s Community Service Programme. The unit’s management was originally by committee, four of which were appointed by the Council. By 1982 the Unit provided the site surveying module for the London University Extra Mural Certificate in Field Archaeology. At this time four Certificated Archaeological students made a commitment to expand the activities of the unit and open its membership to all. During 1984 the management committee agreed to the unit becoming fully delegated, thus removing it from direct Council control but making it responsible for all running and development costs and the name was changed to Bexley Archaeological Group. In 1998 the late Major John Hollis MBE became the first Honorary President and in 1999 the current management structure was inaugurated as set out in the Constitution. The Group is open to all likeminded people encouraging those with disabilities to take part in the archaeological activities. Anyone may participate in whichever level they want, from a person with just general interest to the experienced field worker. Since 2005, Bexley Archaeological Group has been lucky to have an on-going site in Bexley. Here, both members and trainees can continue with the Group's aim. Founded by Nick Sinacori, the pre-eminent historian of the lower East Side of Detroit, who has documented the social, political, automotive, and horse racing history of this unique area of Detroit that existed from 1903 to 1907, yet affected events for years afterward. Famous people in the power elite of Detroit at that time included D.J. Campau Jr., Robert Oakman, John & Horace Dodge, Henry Ford, Hazen Pingree, John R. Williams, and many more. THis will be documented in a forthcoming book this fall, Horsepower, Men, and Machines. There will also be a bus tour on October 27th from the Grosse Pointe Ewald Library, conducted by Nick that will tour all of the significantin the area.

This group is organized to address a glaring weakness in Geographic knowledge. People really like maps. Geographers and others make lots of maps that are informative. Yet the number and popularity of sitesconcentrating on what could be termed as Geographic Knowledge is still quite small (Strange Maps being the most notable exception). Data journalist, computer scientist, and NGOs often simply do not have technical or domain knowledge to make meaningful visualizations. This has the dual disadvantage of departments and researchers missing opportunities to promote their work (visibility = credibility) and depriving an interested public of visualizations and analyses from experts on many topics. Geographic knowledge, particularlyknowledge, is very limited and we are are now well positioned to improve this state of affairs with new tools and data sources. In the meantime, infographic sites (ex. flowing data) and visualization tools (ex. Gapminder) are exploding in use and popularity while Google Maps have familiarized the computer literate world with GIS. This group is for anyone from academia, the press, business, and enthusiastic laymen who are interested in promoting public knowledge through Geovisualizations. This can be blogging, websites, data journalism, or simply helping with content.

Situated at the juncture of three continents Europe, Asia and Africa; Egypt with its unique location is sanctified with wide variety of habitats that range from high rugged mountains to tropical style jungle along the lush Nile basin. With its 5000 Year- old archaeological and, Egypt provides a number of diverse ranges of fauna and flora, particularly some African bird species not found elsewhere in the Western Palearctic. Located on the major routes of migratory birds, over 470 bird species pass through Egypt in the fall and the return in the spring months. One third of these species is resident and found in Egypt year around. Among the various species of birds one can watch many globally threatened and endemic species like Lappet-Faced Vulture, Crab Plover, Hume's Owl and Goliath Heron and many others.
