The Nilesfor Children provides residential treatment, day treatment and educationto over 150 children, annually. The agency, founded in 1883, is located at 1911 East 23rd Street in Kansas City, Missouri. The campus consists of two adjacent buildings, one housing administrative offices and the residential dorm, and the other housing therapeutic and educational services. Niles serves children ages 7 through 17 from eastern Kansas and across Missouri. The agency works in partnership with Missouri Division of Family Services Children’s Division; the Jackson County MentalLevy; and the Kansas City, Missouri School District. Niles employs over 70 people, including social workers, teachers and residential technicians.

In September, the Foundation officially launched the Women’s Vision for Health Care Council. The Council objective is to give women a voice to help shape how health care is delivered to families in our community, and raise awareness and inspire community philanthropy to advance exceptional health care for patients at Chilton Medical Center. Each member of the Council must commit to a two-year gift of $1,000 per year, which will support a health initiative selected by the group. As a regional health care leader, it is important to inform, empower and support women who are often the primary health care decision makers for families, giving them the necessary tools to care for themselves and their loved ones. The Women’s Vision for Health Care Council at Chilton Medical Center will influence theand care the hospital provides the community in the areas of cancer, cardiac health, pediatrics, and women’s health, among others.The Council will meet on a quarterly basis for educational sessions with various hospital service lines to learn more about high priority initiatives and needs. These presentations will help guide the Council to make decisions regarding funding initiatives. After the third meeting, the Council members will vote on the area for which they would like to designate their funds. The selected recipient will be invited back to the fourth and final meeting of the year for a celebratory luncheon and check presentation. The Women’s Vision for Health Care Council will grow to be an influential group at Chilton Medical Center. While expanding their role as health care decision makers at, members will also help impact the care that Chilton delivers to our community.
