I am currently in the midst of obtaining my Reading Specialist degree and are aware of how elementary schools identify, monitor and deliver reading intervention to students who struggle with reading. From my observations this high level of remediation seems to stop once they leave elementary school. I would like to discuss how middle school and high school educators help LBLD students be successful students to college/career ready. Parents of LBLD children are welcome to join the discussion.

The Salem State University Upward Bound Program offers academic instruction, tutoring and enrichment activities throughout the school year and during a six-week summer program. Four weeks are spent on campus at Salem State; students reside in the residence halls from Sunday night through Friday afternoon. The Halandri Parents Association is a Social Cooperative Enterprise created by the need to offer childcare services to preschool and school-age children and their families. The founding members are parents who met at the parents' committee formed in 2011 to oppose the shrinking of preschool education in the city of Halandri. Since the end of August 2012, our Social Cooperative Enterprise is a member of the Ministry of Labor Social Economy Registry.
