Since that first group gather in 1947, our Chapter has continued to be a significant member of the safety community, making numerous contributions. Beginning in 1970, in cooperation with the Nashville General Sessions Court , the Chapter established a monthly Driver Safety School for minor traffic offenders in Davidson County . A portion of the proceeds from the Driver Safety School was dedicated to the start-up and operation of the Guest House, a facility that provides a safe environment and shelter 24 hours a day for individuals in treatment as well as a safe alternative to jail for people arrested forintoxication. Dr. Charles F. Strobel is the Founding Director of this program in partnership with the Metro Police Department, and operates from the Campus for Human Development (Room In The Inn) in Nashville . Rachel Hester, a 17 year veteran of the organization, is the Executive Director. In 1978, the Middle Tennessee Chapter co-sponsored along with the Tennessee Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and(TOSHA), the Tennessee Safety and Health Congress and Exposition. The Congress attracts thousands of delegates and hundreds of exhibitors annually. The Congress is now sponsored by the TOSHA Division of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the Tennessee Chapters of the American Society of Safety Engineers. Beginning in the late 1980's, the Chapter began providing scholarships to students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate safetyin the area colleges and universities including Middle Tennessee State University and Murray State University . The Chapter promotes the advancement of the safety profession and fosters technical, scientific, managerial and ethical knowledge, skills and competency of safety professionals.

Michigan's Health Management & Policy (HMP) program has thousands of program alumni globally. This is a group for all alumni of the program. We are not affiliated, sponsored, or employed by the school in any capacity. This is an independent group serving as a central location for alumni on a professional platform. Some of the alumni in this group engage with the school and are able to share relevant information ad updates. The alumni send quarterly newsletters with local events and meet-ups, and sometimes highlight school events. The Department of Social and Public Health is one of four distinct academic areas in the College of Health Sciences and Professions. Home to eight majors, Child and Family Studies, Community Health Services, Environmental Health Science, Health Services Administration, Occupational Hygiene and Safety, Long-TermAdministration, Public Health and Social Work, plus a number of certificate programs, the department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. The Department of Social and Public Health is the largest academic program house in the College of Health Sciences and Professions.

Health Care Administration, Leadership, and Management (HALM) integrates expertise from medicine, health systems science, quality improvement, patient safety, business, public health, communication, computer science, economics, law, and other disciplines in a singular subspecialty certification. HALM-certified physicians are expected to contribute effectively to the future health care environment with an in-depth understandingthe ways by which executive leadership and their governance effect change in these complex health systems.
