The Joint Council on Transit Wireless Communications is a federation of transportation organizations and stakeholders created to represent passenger transportation service operators nation-wide within the United States on matters of wireless voice and data communications. The Council membership is drawn from public agencies, private providers and industry serving road, water, and rail transit. The federation seeks to educate and inform public and private transportation agencies and providers on issues relating to their use of wireless communications. This presentation will provide information regarding the Joint Council organization, it’s purposes, initiatives, and objectives. Initiatives include: • Getting the word out and providing education and assistance for Narrow-banding and 800 MHz re-banding • Providing education and assistance regarding PTC communications. • Providing comments to FCC petitions and NPRM’s • Providing a single location for transit wireless information • Tracking and dissemination of FTA, FRA and other governmental actions regarding wireless issues. • Promote coordination of transit communications with public safety and emergency management. • Serve as a standing forum for the exchange of ideas and information regarding passenger transportation provider transit industry wireless communications; • Identify, support, and conduct studies and research on passenger transportation provider transit wireless communications; • Support and promote collaboration across disciplines through national leadership; • Monitor new technologies and/or projects that affect passenger transportation provider transit wireless communications.

The Ohio Rail Development Commission is an independent agency within the Ohio Department of Transportation. The Commission's mission is to plan, promote, and implement the improved movement of goods and people faster and safer on a rail transportation network connecting Ohio to the nation and the world. The line is completely underground and has connections with other transportation systems such as the ferry in Bostancı station, Kadıköy-Kartal (M4) line in Kozyatağı station and Üsküdar-Ümraniye-Çekmeköy (M5) line in Dudullu Station. Dudullu Bostancı Metro Line shall have a transport capacity of 70.000 passengers per hour per direction. System will be GoA4 with driverless trains, CBTC.
