Digital technology and Information and Communication Technologies based on Artificial Intelligence have a cross-cutting impact in many areas of our life, and especially in the domain of health. They also represent a key driver of innovation and socio-economic growth. These technologies open up new possibilities but also risks and challenges, such as risk of violating ethical principles and human rights (such as privacy rights, data ownership, etc.). These challenges can only be adequately faced by developing an interdisciplinary approach, where technology is designed in compliance with the preservation of fundamental rights. REINITIALISE “preserving fundamental rights in the use of digital technologies for e-health services”, is a European project funded by the Horizon 2020 – Twinning Programme. It aims to step up and stimulate scientific excellence and increase capacity for the design and use of digital technologies in the sector of health, in order to integrate the potential of technology with the awareness of its ethical, legal and socio-economic dimension. The Maria Curie-Skłodowska University will engage in an interdisciplinary transfer knowledge process with three European leading institutions (KU Leuven in Belgium, University of Macerata and Eurocentro Srl in Italy) and the continuous involvement of local stakeholders, with the ultimate goal of creating synergies between research excellence and business and public sectors, that can lead to innovation and socio-economic territorial development in the health sector.

Following an extensive research on the Lab industry in Southeast Asia, it came to light that there were no focused and dedicated lab exhibitions in South East Asia. Most of the lab exhibitions are incorporated with other exhibitions like process control, pump and valves, industrial automation and machine tools or incorporated with medical exhibitions. And we have turn our concern by conceptualising LabAsia, as there was a great need for scientific laboratory equipments and services, because South East Asia is a developing region which most of the industries requires some sort of testing. This exhibition is to cater to the scientific industry such as professional chemist, biochemist, microbiologist, analyst, research and development researchers, lab managers, quality control and assurance managers. LabAsia also looks after the needs and demands of South East Asia’s distributors and scientific dealers that are keen to take in new products to supply to the local market which acts as a support and conduit for their foreign principals. To date, only LabAsia, serves the purpose as being the main regional platform for the Southeast Asia market. The Financial Mathematics Computation Cluster (FMC2) is a research collaboration between Industry, University College Dublin, Dublin City University, and NUI Maynooth. FMC2 aims to create a globally-leading centre of financial research that will provide a critical underpinning for the future development of, and employment growth in, the international financial services sector in Ireland. The research cluster brings together complementary expertise in financial mathematics, financial economics and computer science to create a multi-disciplinary research centre with the critical mass to be globally competitive. The cluster will also embed significant linkages with a range of industrial partners, ensuring the direct industry-relevance of its research activities. In order to provide a clear focus for the research activities of FMC2, we initially concentrate on the development of theory and methods for the task of asset management. This area is chosen as it is one of the primary activities within the IFSC, it offers high value-add, and has substantial growth potential. In addition to its practical significance, activities in the asset management encapsulate a wide variety of important scientific research questions in mathematical finance and computation.
