The Telecommunications Industry Foundation (TIF) seeks to understand the issues arising from the rapid advancement and deployment of telecommunications infrastructure. TIF focuses on uplifting people by bringing knowledge, understanding, and debate to make Information and Communications Technology (ICT) safe and sustainable. As the world becomes more interconnected, TIF provides timely support and education to the public, lawmakers, and industry stakeholders in collaboration with theIndustry Association (TIA) to promote safety, quality, efficiency and workforce development. As part of their educational responsibility, the TIF will facilitate the development of and publish Planning Advisory Notices (PAN) and White Papers. Once these documents are published, the TIF will provide an educational rollout which will include notification to their extensive network including, but not limited to: communities, end users, industry participants, regulators, owners, and engineers. The TIF will also establish a feedback loop to receive comments on the document and allow it to evolve over time. As the document gains consensus within the industry, there may be a desire to shift the topic into a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or TIA Standard. However, the TSB and TIA Standards fall outside of the jurisdiction of the TIF. We appreciate the work of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and look forward to continuing the relationship developed that supports the communications industry.
