About PhotoZone PhotoZone is a collection of diverse individuals interested in the craft of photography. A wide variety of skills are valued which range from masters of silver print, Platinum/Palladium, gum bichromate, etc. to enthusiasts of digital production. Many kinds of work are welcome, including hand-colored, airbrush, 3-D, collage, HDR, portraiture, street photography, nature photography, abstract expression, mixed media, and the list goes on. Some background info In 1988 a group of 18 photographers opened an exhibit in the old Midgley building on High St. in Eugene Oregon and the PhotoZone Gallery was born. Of the group’s purpose a member wrote, “The primary requirement for membership is a dedication to photography as an expressive medium.” About 32 years and 100+ exhibits later PhotoZone continues to provide a venue for fine art photography in Eugene. The group continues to exhibit in various locations and sponsors a juried show every July which is open only to non-members. Many photographicreceive their first public exposure by entering PhotoZone’s annual juried show. PhotoZone currently has approximately 40 members. New members are welcomed after work is juried by current members.

Today’s feature is all about pewter - a soft metal alloy that can be used to produce a variety of handmade pieces, such as pendants, embellishments, frames, to name a few. With their faint sheen, these pieces are stunning on their own; but they can also be incorporated in many types of mixed media art (like collages) or to embellish items like windows, doors, and other types of furniture. Option 3: Writing: Students in this option have the opportunity to write across television, film, and stage.
