Kgautšwana Bursary Scheme, KBS is short, was founded in 2006 by four members with the aim of responding to the need for financial uplifting of underprivileged pupils from schools around Kgautšwana. Its main aims, in terms of its constitution, include, but not limited to: 1. Assisting, promoting, and supporting the financial needs of pupils within Kgautšwana in furthering their higher education aspirations; 2. Identifying pupils from selected schools around Kgautšwana at large by obtaining list of top performers from each selected schools’ leadership in higher grades (grade 11 &12) for a selection process. Selected candidates will undergo a screening/assessment process to be conducted by a/the Board of Trustees (BoT) member(s) to examine their eligibility for the funding before a final selection is made and funding allocated as necessary, i.e. per tuition requirement; 3. Not only providing funding to our beneficiaries but also mentoring them on effective methods of studying, exam techniques, career paths, etc in their respective study fields. This will be provided by dedicated and committed BoT members with the respective expertise in the field of study concerned; and 4. Conducting school visits around selected schools within Kgautšwana at large for career guidance on available higher education institutions at which they can further their education, other available funding and bursaries by other institutions such as NSFAS, edu loan, etc. This will include the distribution of application for admission and bursary forms of various higher education institutions and bursary organisations. Its membership grew from four members to nine members recently with the inclusion of five additional members since 2007 to the current year (2012). As per our emblem, “development for better future”, we will remain our logo; meaning, when translated in thegenerally used in Kgautšwana, “Tlhabologo go bokamoso bjo bokaone”.

Each program at MPCC provides a loving and stimulating environment in which the children learn language arts, math, geography, science, computer technology, art, drama, and music. Our children are also exposed to foreign languages and enjoy many field trips. The use of sensory materials and practical life skills are emphasized in the toddler and preschool programs and facilitate learning in the elementary years. These are all presented in an aesthetically pleasing, prepared environment, which is true to the Montessori philosophy in purpose and ordered simplicity. MPCC was founded in August 1984 by a group of parents who shared the Montessori philosophy and wanted quality education for their children through a prepared environment. These parents were committed to building a school that had qualified caring staff, low student/teacher ratios, low staff turnover, quality educational materials, and before and afterschool care. They also wanted a school in which they could be actively involved -from preparing classroom materials to making major policy decisions. To accomplish all of this, MPCC was organized as a non-profit corporation, governed by a Parent Board of Directors.
