The Learn Italy Group, is the new global center for the Italian language and culture, and the first of its kind to create a concrete cultural bond between the US and Italy. The BDI is a student association from emlyon business school, in charge of welcoming international students and integrating them to the school's student life. As a language enthusiast, I've learned 10 languages. I've helped language teachers and learners to select the best language education material they needed. I've worked at the world's largest language school. Then, I realized two things: 1) Teachers can be heavily underpaid and 2) Language learners are often seriously overcharged. I've also taught languages myself at high school as a temporary teacher. Then, teaching expats and (international) students from my home. I realized the following: Language teachers and Language learners should be matched more easily! Problem 1: where do language learners try to find teachers? On Google. But can teachers be present on there? Teachers do not always want to invest time, money or energy in creating a website, Google advertising or SEO campaign. So the idea of Interlinguals was born. We can do that, reach out to your language learners and show them the lessons that our teachers add onto their Interlinguals profiles. Problem 2: Learners do not always know that private teachers are an option. Often, they'll just consider the options to buy a self-study book or go to a language school. The former is generally just 'successful' for a few weeks, without any push, proper understanding or practice. The latter can be a good option to share teacher costs and meet new people, but we want to offer affordable private lessons, that allows learners to reach their language goals quicker. Problem 3:have to charge high prices and can't always pay good rates to the teacher cause of high overhead costs, such as reception area, staff, management sales training in expensive hotels abroad, cars, extra management layers and unused classrooms. Some of the largestcharge the customer 5 x more for a lesson than they pay out to the teacher. And they can't change that cost structure. Another reason why Interlinguals was started. The Engaging China Project was established to encourage the study of Chinese language and China related disciplines at a high school level. The Engaging China Project is an NGO run by volunteers passionate about all things China who promote the value of China-literacy to students in Australian schools. In partnership with highthroughout Australia, the Engaging China Project sends out ambassadors to speak with high school students about the benefits of continuing their studies in Chinese language and other China related disciplines. The Ambassadors are young Australians with extensive China experience and a passion to share this with students. The presentations inform students about the vast and diverse pathways available to engage with China beyond high school, whether through study at a tertiary level in Australia or China, working and travelling in China during a gap year or attending a language centre to improve their Chinese in an exciting and culturally rich environment. Vision for Chile (VFC) is a faith-based organization that has been in operation for 14 years created to care for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of orphans, young women and at-risk children in Chile. VFC also has an objective to reach out to impoverished communities in Chile providing assistance with feeding programs, educational tools, and social projects.
