The Archival Initiatives Division® offers practical consultative services to the archives community. As the roles of libraries, historical societies and industry associations continue to evolve in the electronic age, librarians and archivists are tasked with optimizing the wealth of information residing in their repositories, whether for retention, conversion or distribution. In some instances collections may prove to be of commercial value within a variety of contexts. In such eventualities the Archival Initiatives Division is uniquely qualified to assist in reaching knowledgeable resolutions. We: * help identify collections most appropriate for conversion and possible commercial distribution * investigate rights ownership * coordinate communication with the commercial sector to explore mutually beneficial cooperation between both parties while safeguarding the library and the integrity of its collections * act as a clearing house handling questions and responses in support of any proposed enterprise * oversee any required data conversion process, whether by the commercial entity or as an internal library project * as needed, assist in DTD creation and outsource vendor selection * advise on selecting the most suitable distribution environment * license data for distribution, as appropriate By coordinating a library’s project requirements with commercial firms’ interests, Unlimited Priorities creates an atmosphere of mutual cooperation while organizing a successful process at a reasonable cost.

The Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC) is a cooperative of partners within the Caribbean and circum-Caribbean that provides users with access to Caribbean cultural, historical and research materials held in archives, libraries, and private collections. dLOC comprises collections that speak to the similarities and differences in histories, cultures, languages and governmental systems. Types of collections include but are not limited to: newspapers, archives of Caribbean leaders and governments, official documents, documentation and numeric data for ecosystems, scientific scholarship, historic and contemporary maps, oral and popular histories, travel accounts, literature and poetry, musical expressions, and artifacts. The Digital Library of the Caribbean’s (dLOC) diverse partners serve an international community of scholars, students, and peoples by working together to preserve and to provide enhanced electronic access to cultural, historical, legal, governmental, and research materials in a common web space with a multilingual interface. dLOC's partners collaborate with scholars and teachers for promoting and performing educational outreach on Caribbean Studies, developing new works of digital scholarship, and pursuing other research and teaching initiatives.

Digital Cultural Heritage DC is a monthly meetup group for people interested in collecting, preserving and making available digital cultural heritage information. Our meetings begin with a few short lightning talks followed by social information exchange. This is a great networking opportunity for students, as well as anyone interested in learning about digital collections in archives, museums, libraries or anywhere else. We're interested in digital content of all kinds, including film/video, still images, text, datasets, video games and pretty much anything of value in digital form. We are an open and friendly group, and welcome all comers.

GNOA is open to all who have an interest in the archives as well as cultural organizations such as libraries and museums in the New Orleans area. A few times a year we meet in various archives around town to discuss issues relevant to research and archives, share experiences, and most importantly socialize with our peers. GNOA membership is great for people to learn more about the archival and cultural community and to join in the discussion.

SLI mission is “INNOVATE, EDUCATE and RESTORE” “Distance is no longer a barrier to education”. We use WebEx technology to bring vital training and skills. SLI network selects some good faculty and provide online training to develop their skills to use our webcasting and we can use their services for web casting workshops/seminars / conferences and Educational programmes. Our WebEx service provides video Share from 2 to 25 webcams face-to-face interaction with students SLI web casting Network is user friendly and students must get free mobile access, voice conferencing and recordings of online classes. We want you to interact with us on line and test connectivity before the web casting dates. We will record all our web cast meetings live, which will be played back & to buildup archives. We will make a consortium of lecture series to use them in the classes, which will be part of the future plans to start online classes & allowing others (university libraries etc.) interested to use these archives.
