The Massachusetts Bus Association (MassBus) is a cooperative association of private bus companies established to promote and advance bus transportation in Commonwealth of Massachusetts. MassBus is continually working to improve the bus industry, which is a significant component of the public transportation network and contributor to the area economic development. The goal of this organization is to work closely with the public policy makers on issues affecting the bus industry, including government policies and programs, highway regulations, fuel and excise tax policies, privatization and contract opportunities, as well as bus manufacturer issues and concerns. Representatives from MassBus serve on government advisory committees for the Massachusetts Tourism Office and the transportation planning organization in the Boston area.
