ABOUT US: HISTORY: Navy Mothers' Clubs of America was organized in June 1930 by Emma Jones of McAllen, TX. Club No. 1 began with 29 members. OUR MISSION: Helping our Military Personnel, Veterans and supporting one another. Navy Mothers' Clubs of America is nonsectarian and non-political and is primarily a Welfare Organization. During the war years it was one of only 20 organizations recognized by the President's Welfare Control Board. It has been in active Welfare Work since 1930, is tax exempt by Internal Revenue Service. LOCAL CLUBS: Each Navy Mothers' Club has it's own projects it pursues, while following the by-laws and guidelines of the Navy Mothers' Clubs of America. REACHING OUT: Some clubs are active at the U.S.O., Veterans Homes, VA Hospitals, etc. RECOGNITION: A special National Navy Mothers' Day, in August of each year, was proclaimed by the Navy Dept. in recognition of the dedicated women who are interested in the welfare of the men and women in the US Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Sea Bees. NATIONAL: The National Convention, with delegates from every Club in the US is held biennially in the even years; this Convention is held in a different section of the country each time. The Libertarian Club Libek is a non—profit, non—governmental and non—partisan organization that is creating a liberty friendly environment in Serbia and the Western Balkans through education and policy work. Prosperity is impossible without respect for individual liberty. The way to stable welfare is possible only if each individual defines on their own, according to their personal abilities, their goals without any intervention from outside. The greatest threat to individual freedom comes from the coercive mechanisms of the state. We believe that the role of the state is to protect the lives and property of the citizens and ensure that contracts among them are respected. Every expansion of government’s jurisdiction beyond these limits presents a threat to individual freedom. As an organization, we insist on the ideas of individual liberty, free market and limited government! In our work, we advocate the solutions that lead to: - a free market, free and fair competition - rule of law and independence of the state insitutions - privatization of the public sector and transparent reform of state institutions - denationalization, restitution and return of illegally confiscated property - deregulation and tax reduction - inviolability of the private individual domain Libek has reached out to thousands of young people in Serbia and the region through seminars, documentaries, lectures and panel discussions. We are proud of our work with high school students, university students and activists of the political parties and the civil society organizations in Serbia and the region. The Syracuse Public Interest Network is a student-run organization at the Syracuse University College of Law (SUCOL) committed to fostering the careers of students who intend to advocate for the public interest. SPIN raises money to provide fellowships for College of Law students who are employed during the summer in the public interest legal field. Public interest organizations tend to represent people and issues that might otherwise lack meaningful representation in the legal system. Public interest practice is often considered work done in pursuit of individual or group concepts of justice, equity, and advancing the public good, rather than for purposes of commercial or personal gain. Class of 2016 Leadership Loudoun is a nonprofit organization that develops current and emerging leaders to work together to serve the good of Loudoun County, Virginia. The nine month leadership development program consists of an extensive experiential curriculum. Who We Are Nearly twenty-five classes have graduated from the program creating a membership network of more than 500 community leaders representing business, government, nonprofit, education, human services, and faith-based organizations.
